    Mentor

    The historical term “Mentor” comes from Greek history. Mentor was a trusted friend of Odysseus, the king of Ithaca. When Odysseus fought in the Trojan War, Mentor served as friend and counsel to Odysseus’ son Telemachus. In today’s world, a mentor is a guide and advocate, someone who imparts wisdom and experience to help a mentee.

     

    A mentor is a trusted advisor who has amassed an expertise of at least 10,000 hours (as per Malcom Gladwell) in a specific discipline such as executive leadership, finance, marketing, sales, and many more all in a wide range of industries like real estate, technology, tourism, investments, academia, manufacturing, etc.

     

    A Mentorship Works mentor could be just about any age, though the requirement of significant experience in a specific area usually leads to that person at least being in their early 30s.

     

    If you would like to become a Mentor, we expect you will follow through on the time commitment and conduct yourself with the highest level of ethics.
